I am a software engineer based in Southern California. I've had a passion for programming from the very beginning. I attended Fullerton College for three years to study web development and after learning the fundamentals of the web, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, I used my new found skills to maintain my father's company's PHP code base used by 500 small businesses. Fast forward a couple years later I pursued a business in the automotive industry. Using my skills in web development I created a website to sell auto parts around the globe.
After four years of developing problem solving skills, business management skills, and of course my web development skills I came to a crossroads: Whether to expand my business, or chase the old dream of becoming a real software engineer. I then decided to close down the business, invest every penny into myself, and went straight into the Accelerated Full-Stack Web Development Program at LearningFuze. That is where I participated in my first two team hackathons, learned the true value of communication and documentation, built a real full stack web application, and truly discovered what I had been missing out on all these years.
After the program I was offered a position on the team as an instructor to teach the fundamentals, along with developing in house applications with the team. I couldn't pass up the offer of being able to make a difference in the world and being able to work along side closely with the senior developers at LearningFuze.
I have been working with the LearningFuze team for a year now and have had so much fun along the way. I now spend my free time researching new technologies, building software, going to meetups (virtual of course), participating in hackathons, studying design patterns and software architecture.
Lets have a conversation! I love meeting people in the software industry!
